Binational Art Encounter
November 18 – 22, 2026
SUTURA is a binational encounter of art and ideas that understands the U.S.–Mexico border as a model of cultural strength and innovation.
Conceived as both rupture and repair, SUTURA activates spaces and sites across Ciudad Juárez and El Paso through exhibitions, performances, talks, visits, food, music, and community-led initiatives.
The project positions art as a source of knowledge, resistance, and collective imagination. Collaborating with leading institutions and emerging initiatives, SUTURA demonstrates that the arts at the border are socially and structurally essential.
The program centers Latinx, Chicano, Border, Mexican, and Latin American practices, while fostering dialogue with artists and thinkers from other regions of the world.
Join us during SUTURA, as we affirm that the border is not a periphery, but a center of cultural production with global impact.
Over the course of one week, SUTURA activates multiple venues across Ciudad Juárez and El Paso, developed in dialogue with artists, local institutions, independent collectives, grassroots initiatives on both sides of the border, and allies from beyond the region.
